Mr. Treneff earned his undergraduate degree from Ohio State University and his Juris Doctor from Capital University. In 1972, he was admitted to practice law in OH before being admitted practice before the Supreme Court of Ohio, United States Supreme Court, and United States Tax Court. His practice areas include:

James R. Cooper, Member & Partner

Mr. Cooper earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Notre Dame and his Juris Doctor from The Ohio State University. Before he was admitted to practice law before the Supreme Court of Ohio, he was admitted to practice law in OH, in 1972. Mr.Cooper also has the ability to practice before the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit, the United States District Court for the Southern District of Ohio, and the United States Court of Military Appeals. He is a former active duty and a reserve United States Naval Officer. Mr. Coooper 's practice areas include:

Timothy M. Cooper, Member & Partner

Mr. Cooper earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Notre Dame and his Juris Doctor from the University of Toledo. He was admitted to practice law in the State of Ohio in 1998 and is admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of Ohio and the United States District Court for the Southern District of Ohio. Christopher M. Shook

Mr. Shook has the legal training and knowledge to help clients with any legal matter. He gained this expertise by first obtaining a B. A. from Ohio State University and later his Juris Doctor from the University of Akron School of Law. In 2005, he was admitted to practice law in OH before being admitted to practice before the United States District Court of the Southern District of Ohio, United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit.

Mr. Shook joined our firm in 2005 and later became Of Counsel in 2015. He practices in the following areas:

Retired Attorneys

Throughout the years, some of the most professional attorneys have worked for our firm. Those who have retired from Morrow, Gordon & Byrd include:

L. James Gordon

A native of PA, Mr. Gordon was born in 1927. He attended Denison University, where he earned a B.A. with honors in 1950. Later in 1953, he obtained his Juris Doctor from Yale University and was also admitted to the bar the same year. He was later admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court, United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit, United States District Court for the Southern District of Ohio, United States Tax Court.

One of the original members of the firm, Mr. Gordon actively represented clients until December 31, 2012, when he retired. During his active practice, Mr. Gordon served his many clients in the areas of wills and trusts, estate planning, business law, and taxation.

Martin D. Altmaier

Born in 1942, Mr. Altmaier earned his A. B. from Duke University and his Juris Doctor from Ohio State University. He was then admitted to the OH Bar in 1967 and also admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court and United States Tax Court.

Mr. Altmaier joined the firm in 1967 and retired in 2014. He practiced in the fields of real estate law, estate planning, and the administration of estates.

Steven T. Greene

Mr. Green obtained his A.B. from Brown University and Juris Doctor from the Ohio State University Michael E. Moritz College of Law. He was admitted to the practice of law in Ohio in 1973. Later, he was admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court, United States District Court of the Southern District of Ohio, United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit.

Mr. Greene joined our firm in 1975 before becoming Of Counsel in 2013. He actively practiced in the area of litigation and handled a wide variety of cases, including personal injury, insurance defense, and complex divorce cases. Mr. Greene also assisted his clients with probate cases and various civil matters.
